Visual Arts
Canvasses of bright color and harmonious design for your eyes or for your living room? The many artists of this region will fill your eyes with well-made art. Maybe you're looking for art with a Bayou State aroma or for a primitive, unlearned artist's blocks of color. This is the place for art that integrates bayous, Spanish moss, the fencerows and endearing faces of Louisiana.
Galleries and museums will aslo feed your appetite for classic art. There's Americana at Norton Foundation Gallery, Bayou State themes at Louisiana State Exhibit Building, Asian art at Meadows Museum, African art at Southern University Museum of Art Shreveport and contemporary work downtown at artspace.
Restaurants such as Columbia Cafe and Prima Tazza coffee feature a continual flow of art, too. You'll find that visual art is like coffee or gumbo in the Shreveport-Bossier region: we could not fully live without it.
